General Manager

Nicole Latreille

Nicole Latreille comes to the team from Ottawa, ON where she was the Athletic Coordinator and Skill Development Coach for AMPED Sports Lab. Nicole holds a Post Graduate degree in Sports Business Management and has been working for multiple National Sport Organizations for the past eight (8) years. Her extensive knowledge of the game and diverse background in marketing, social media, sponsorship and sport management will help elevate the Furies brand and continue drive them towards success.

A former elite-level hockey player for Guelph University and the Ottawa Raiders, Nicole is hoping to develop an atmosphere where the athletes can focus solely on performance excellence. Her main goal is to engage the community, build the Furies brand and create a platform that allows the athletes to succeed.

Nicole has also been coaching at all levels for the past ten (10) years. Most notably she was a part of the coaching staff for Team Canada Ball Hockey in 2013 where they captured the Gold Medal. Nicole has also travelled to Dunedin New Zealand as a Skill Development coach. There she brought her passion for the game and worked with athletes of all ages and levels. Nicole understands what it takes to create a winning atmosphere and is looking to replicate that with the Furies.

Head Coach

Sommer West

In her 5th year as Head Coach of the Toronto Furies, Sommer has acheived more than many. The Furies 2013/14 season proved to be the best yet as Sommer coached the Furies to a Clarkson Cup Championship, as well as received the highly regarded, Coach of the Year award.

Prior to coaching, Sommer had played in the league (as the former NWHL), for 19 seasons. She won various awards during her playing years including the leagues Most Valuable Player, and Scoring Leader.

West played at the National level as well, competing with the U18 National team, the U22 National team, and the senior National team in the Four-Nations Cup.

Outside of hockey, West also play at a national level with the Canadian Womens Softball team. She competed in multiple Pan-Am championships, national tournaments, and the 2000 Sydney Olympics as the starting first baseman.

West is a native of Bowmanville Ontario, where she currently resides.

Assistant Coach

Lexie Hoffmeyer

Lexie Hoffmeyer was named Assistant Coach in 2015 after 5 seasons of playing defence for the Toronto Furies. Hoffmeyer was drafted in the inaugural 2010-2011 draft of the CWHL to the Furies. Hoffmeyer was part of the Clarkson Cup winning 2013-2014 team and served as a 2-time Assistant Captain before retiring in 2015.

Prior to joining the blue and white in 2010, Hoffmeyer played her collegiate career with NCAA D1 University of Maine Black Bears, serving as a 2-time Alternate Captain, before graduating with a Business Marketing Degree.

In addition to coaching the Furies, with a focus on defence, Hoffmeyer assists in managing the social media efforts of the team as she has a background in sports marketing and advertising and as a current Social Media Manager.

Outside of ice hockey, Hoffmeyer also plays ball hockey. She has won two national championships with the Toronto Shamrocks and won gold in the 2015 World Ball Hockey Championship in Zug, Switzerland with Team Canada.

A dual citizen, Hoffmeyer grew up in Grand Blanc, Michigan, but has resided in Toronto since 2010.
