Job Opportunities 2017/18 CWHL Season - Toronto Furies

The Toronto Furies are one of four Canadian teams who play in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL), the premier, professionally run women's hockey league in the world.

About the League: The CWHL is a not-for-profit organization run by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Amateur Women’s Hockey (CAAAWH). The league depends upon valuable support from private donations and corporate sponsors to exist. The CWHL is a centrally funded league, meaning that all participating teams in the CWHL receive equal access to funding and are given the same opportunities to succeed. Every dollar goes towards building a league that is dedicated to raising the profile of women’s hockey, while providing a place where the best female hockey players in North America can come to train and compete.

 

1. Game Day Manager (One Position)

Responsible for running all aspects of a Toronto Furies game day

  • Manage the planning, preparation and organization of all entertainment aspects of home games to enhance the fan experience
  • Execute game night plans, oversee the game night staff (video crew, in-game host, PA announcer, volunteers, mascot, ice-cleaners, etc.) and all contests/promotions on the ice and in the stands
  • Staging of all in game promotions and props
  • Responsible for scheduling staff for each game
  • Responsible for making sure game day staff are following policies and procedures appropriately.
  • Responsible for hiring and training volunteers for the 2017/2018 season.
  • Responsible for sending detailed “Game Details” to GM and volunteers.
  • In-charge of large game day operations room with all game day supplies in it.
  • Responsible for coordinating all merchandise, ticketing and game day activations.
  • Responsible for coordinating teams and associations when in attendance.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of Game Day Management experience

2. Time Keeper (One Position)

The Timekeeper is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of timekeeping and scorekeeping for games held at Master Card Center are executed properly.

Required Skills

  • At least 1 years experience
  • Must attend all 12-15 Home Games
  • Must maintain a professional image at all times
  • Knowledge of the Toronto Furies and the CWHL

 

3. Volunteers Needed (Multiple Positions)

Volunteers may be asked to perform duties outside of their job description when required. Volunteers will have to interact with fans, players, coaches, team personnel, rink personnel, media, sponsors and other volunteers at any given time and must be able to perform assigned tasks while maintaining a fun family friendly atmosphere during all team functions.

  • Available to Work During All Home Games (the Furies will play between 12-15 home games including playoffs, with all games taking place Saturday and Sunday)
