Toronto Furies to Host Charity Skills Clinic
The Toronto Furies and the Grindstone Award Foundation are pleased to introduce an exclusive skills clinic for young female hockey players.
Female hockey players age six to 16 can sign up for a private session with some of the best female players in the world. They will have the chance participate in an on-ice skills session with the Furies and have a chance to pick their brains during the Furies Hot Stove Q&A. Following the session the Furies will be hosting the Calgary Inferno and all participants of the clinic will receive a ticket to the game. Players will be available for signatures after the game.
“An event like this is not only an opportunity to raise funds, but we see it as an incredible day for female mentorship in our game,” Dominique Di Rocco, General Manager of the Grindstone Award Foundation.
The Furies are excited to share their experiences of playing professional hockey with the next generation of players.
The team believes this is a great way to showcase the possibilities for female hockey players.
“We have been given such an amazing opportunity as female hockey players to play professionally, we want to help grow the game for the next generation,” said Sami Jo Small, Furies general manager. “It’s important for young female to see themselves in the eyes of their heroes, but also very important for our players to give back to the game that has given them so much.”
